CAROLINA HOPE Christian Adoption Agency is pleased to announce its Kazakhstan adoption program. The facilitators in the country are well experienced and have made arrangements so that each aspect of your visit to the country is pleasant and your adoption experience operates smoothly. The facilitators have more than three years of experience in the country and have conducted more than 150 adoptions. All the children placed are doing well and few have medical problems. References from families who have adopted are available. The children are very well cared for and the orphanages are exceptionally clean and well staffed.
The program allows families who seek Asian children to adopt without having the 12-month wait for an assignment of a child as in China. Therefore, you can usually travel about four weeks after your paperwork is in Kazakhstan.
What age children are available?
Children who are six months and older can be placed for adoption. More toddlers and pre-school children are available. The children can vary in coloring and ethnic make-up. Most of the children appear to be Eurasian while twenty-five percent are Caucasian. You can select the ethnic appearance of your child. Children from Eastern Kazakhstan are primarily Asian, while those in the Western areas are often Caucasian. Carolina Hope works with orphanages in various regions. Many of the children are of an ethnic/racial blend and families often select this country program because the children are extraordinarily attractive.
Who can adopt?
Married couples and single women may adopt. In general, the parents cannot be more than 45 years older than the child. Therefore, if a couple's average age is greater than 45 years, they cannot adopt an infant. Adoptive families must earn at least $50,000 annually.
How are children assigned?
You are allowed to select children while you are in Kazakhstan. You can adopt 2 children, unrelated or siblings, while you are in the country. Please contact Carolina Hope to discuss the specifics.
What is the health of the children?
The children are examined by a Western physician and are tested for HIV, hepatitis B, and syphilis. There is a lower incidence of fetal alcohol syndrome than in Eastern European countries. Children with special needs are available as well. The children are in orphanages, where the care is usually very good.
Can more than one child be adopted at the same time?
Yes, this is a wonderful program in which you can select two children while in the country.
What is the process?
While you are waiting for approval from BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services), Carolina Hope can assist you in properly assembling your dossier.
Then the dossier must be carefully copied and translated and sent to the Embassy of Kazakhstan. About one month after your dossier is in Kazakhstan, you can travel to adopt your child.
If you are married, both you and your spouse must stay in the country until the adoption is completed. This takes about two weeks. The officials want to be sure that you and the child are adjusting to each other and that this will be a successful adoption. Carolina Hope works in regions where there are no extended waiting periods.
How long must a parent be in Kazakhstan?
Usually you will stay in the country for 3 weeks, as it takes a few days after the adoption to obtain the child's new birth certificate, passport, and to go to the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.
What are the costs associated with the program?
Please contact CAROLINA HOPE Christian Adoption Agency to discuss the fee schedule. All accommodations and meals are arranged for you in Kazakhstan and in Almaty.
A guide is there to accompany you from the airport and too all official business. The in-country facilitators want your adoption experience to be as comfortable as possible.
Is humanitarian aid provided to the other children in the orphanages?
Yes, donations and aid are given so that the children who will not be adopted have an opportunity for better care, education, and vocational training.
